About us….or should I say About Me!
I’ve been an IT/Finance consultant for over 12,5 years now. Travelled the world and enjoyed most of it. From China to the US and several countries in Europe like Switzerland, Ireland, UK, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium. I have to say that it has been a privilege so far. But it’s not all glamour and like some of my friends say, “jet setting across the globe”. 80% of my time was spent in long hours at the office in a stressful environment.
When I travelled with other colleagues and the team was fun to be around, it was worth it. Was a good laugh at the end and as always I was pleased that I managed to meet interesting people, have a successful project and learn more and more.
However the other 20% were spent in foreign countries, on my own, and living either in hotels or renting apartments but completely alone.
Believe me when I say that at this point in my life I’m my own best friend. I know myself inside out like I never thought possible!!!
Sure it’s easy to make friends when you’re a kid or a student. But in our adult life, and especially when you’re new in town and on the move like me it’s not quick and requires effort and creativity.
And that’s what led me to create this site. I imagine there must be tons of you out there in this incredible city (London), that either moved recently from abroad or from other parts of the UK, freelancers, and basically any other person that for one reason or another would like to meet other people face to face.
Let’s be honest…..in this day in age there are several websites either for dating or simply “meet” but it’s all so virtual and at the end you end up talking to all these strangers and still sitting in front of the computer instead of being out and about having fun in the real world.
So it’s about time we go back to basics and experience a bit of old fashion human contact.
